Exchanges quote currency in pairs and against each other, with the first currency listed being the Base currency and the second the Quote currency. For example, the currency pair BTC/BRL is priced in Brazilian Real, or the pair LTC/BTC, priced in Bitcoin.
On Vector Platforms, currency pairs are organized in reverse:
Quote currency comes first, (it can be fiat - Brazilian Real, US Dollar, Euro - or another cryptocurrency - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin), so it establishes the price:
BRL/BTC - Bitcoin priced in Brazilian Real
ETH/BTC - Bitcoin priced in Ethereum
Base currency will be priced according to the asset selected before and comes second:
BTC/ETH - Ethereum priced in Bitcoin
USD/XRP - Ripple priced in US Dollar
Pairs were defined conversely to show the equivalent price of an asset against the other.
For this reason, it is not possible to trade Forex or Long-Short on Vector Platforms.
