All Vector platforms communicate with synced exchanges to gather important information, like order communication and Market Data (quotes). This process is carried out by internal modules, using an API (Application Programming Interface).
Integration with Vector platforms takes place when an exchange account is added internally, on the Trade menu > Register Exchange Account.
The API protocol is standard with every exchange, meaning that every synchronization uses the same string of codes to send/receive all relevant data (orders, portfolio, external orders, etc.).
Since every exchange uses the same protocol, there are no noticeable differences if we compare the speed at which this data is transferred between Vector and the exchanges' systems.
However, it's important to highlight that international exchanges (Binance, for example) might have higher response times depending on location since their servers are not on every continent. This can heavily impact quick decisions as the information has to travel from our IP addresses to the servers' location. To obtain the ping (latency) we must calculate the time it takes to send/receive information. Higher values indicate slower communication and response time.
It's important to consider these details before choosing your exchange.
ATTENTION: The ping information located in Vector platforms will only indicate the response time of Vertex's servers located in Brazil. The internal ping test does not consider latency between platforms and exchanges.
Some exchanges are able to measure latency response in their Home Broker and/or website:
To check exchange servers' availability, we recommend contacting the exchanges' Help Center directly.
